Melt Your Heart: A Chocolate Inspired Exhibition

Melt Your Heart: A Chocolate Inspired Exhibition will open on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at the Oxford Community Arts Center as part of Chocolate Meltdown and run through February.

Nothing says decadence like chocolate which, in its many forms, has become an obsession for people of all ages. At one time considered a food of the gods by indigenous Americans, chocolate is one of the world’s most mysterious and sought-after substances. Enticing and rich, modern and timeless, chocolate is a veritable inspiration for imaginative work.
We invite artists to exhibit works stimulated by chocolate and the emotions it provokes. Works can be 2 or 3 dimensional and need not consist of chocolate. All media will be considered. Pieces exhibiting diverse concepts, materials or mediums, and creativity will take precedence. Every effort will be made to exhibit all entries, however, space limitations may be an issue.
No entry fee is required. The exhibition committee reserves the right to reject artwork that is inappropriate for our audience. Works submitted made from chocolate or other perishable material may exhibit for a shorter period of time at the discretion of the staff.
Chocolate Meltdown is a multi-faceted collaborative fundraiser for both the Oxford Community Arts Center and the Miami University Art Museum, with vendors featuring chocolate delicacies for tasting, an amateur baking contest, children’s activities, raffle baskets, and educational materials about chocolate.
